What to expect...
On arrival a member of staff will meet you in the car park. We have a 4X4 to transport bags and anyone with restricted mobility to our site which is roughly a 5-10 minute walk.
Once at the site we will help you settle in and how to access the ameneties. We'll also show you how to safely pitch your hammocks as well as some basic camp craft.
Once you're settled and set up with your camp we will come and check everything has been set up safely before starting the practical sessions.
Practical elements include but not restricted to: Safe fire lighting, using saws, knives and other tools to create a range of crafts, outdoor bushcraft and survival skills, species identification and outdoor cooking.
An evening meal will be cooked as part of the evening, followed by whittling time around the campfire.
In the morning hot drinks and breakfast will be served, followed by time to strike camp and return to the main area. The rest of the morning will be devoted to crafts or an explore of our extensive woodland.
The session will finish around 12:00 with all bags and belongings transported back down to the car park.
Email explore@newquayforestschool.co.uk to discuss any element of the experience in greater detail.
